Monastery Weltenburg and Liberation Hall
The famous Benedictine abbey of Weltenburg, near to Kelheim, is imbedded in one of the most beautiful landscapes of Germany. Due to its 1000 years of history, the monastery, that´s still conducted by monks, has experienced lot. The minster is an exceptional masterpiece of the rococo period, created by the world-famous brothers Asam. Weltenburg is associated not only with strict religion but pleasures: enjoy a beer in the beautiful beergarden in the oldest monastery brewery world-wide.
Walhalla
High above the Danube rises this mansion, a neo-classical temple surrounded by collumns. The purchaser was the bavarian king Luwig I., who wanted to build a temple honouring the most important german speaking women and men. The architect Leo von Klenze constructed one of the most important neo-classical buildings in southern Germany,

St. Peters Cathedral
An impressive building and visible from nearly every point of town, it is one of the most important landmarks: St. Peters Cathedral. An outstanding testimony of the bavarian gothic, which left a certain mark in the lifes of the people for centuries. Furthermore the world-famous Domspatzen-singer celebrate their liturgical services in these distinguished building.
Stone Bridge
The Old Stone Bridge is – beside the St. Peter´s Cathedral – the town´s most important sight and the oldest and best preserved brigde of Germany. It was built within an incredible period of time of only 11 years (1135-1146) and at the time of its opening the only bridge over the Danube between Ulm and Vienna.
Old Town Hall/Perpetual Imperial Assembly
Over centuries the Old Town Hall was the midpoint of Regensburg. The city council and the administration were located here as well as the judicature with the prison and the torture chamber. The Perpetual Imperial Assembly took place here from 1663 to 1806 and brought the most important people from German and European politics and their representatives to Regensburg.

Palace St. Emmeram
On the ground of the monastery St. Emmeram dating from the 8th century, the Thurn and Taxis dynasty built the residency castle in 1812. You can visit the royal state rooms, the cloister St. Emmeram and the museum in the further stables. The family Thurn & Taxis still lives in parts of the palace. In summertime one of the most beautiful and impressive open air festivals, the Thurn&Taxis Schlossfestspiele, are located in this historical place.
